Delivery and Deposit Policy

This page sets out how a Holland Lop is reserved with Cedar Point Rabbitry and how it gets to you. Please read it before you pay a deposit. If anything here is unclear, ask us first; we would rather explain it now than after the fact.

Deposits

  • A deposit holds a Holland Lop once your application is approved. We confirm the amount with you after approval.
  • The deposit applies to the bunny's final price.
  • Deposits are non-refundable, but you can transfer your deposit once to a future litter if your plans change.
  • If your reserved bunny cannot go home for a health reason, we contact you right away to talk through your options.

Applications come first. You apply online, we reply within 24 hours, and only then do we discuss a deposit. Please do not send money for a bunny before you have been approved.

Age at go-home

Holland Lop kits leave at 8 weeks or older, once they are fully weaned and eating hay and pellets on their own.

If a kit is not ready at 8 weeks

Most kits are ready right on time, but not every one. A kit that is small for its age or slow to take to hay stays with its mother and littermates a little longer. If that happens, we tell you before you travel and set a new pickup or flight date with you. You will never arrive at the barn or the airport to find out then.

If a grade changes before pickup

Every kit is graded pet, show or brood against the ARBA standard before it is listed, with the reason given. Young rabbits keep changing, and ear carriage or body shape can shift in the weeks before go-home. If we see a grade change before pickup, we tell you before you travel, explain what changed, and talk through your options.

Pickup in Texas

Pickup is at our rabbitry in Texas, by appointment only. We share the address once your application is approved and a pickup date is set. Bring a small, secure carrier with a towel or a little hay in the bottom. At pickup we give you a quick bunny care lesson, so plan on a short visit rather than a hand-off at the door.

Hot-weather pickups

Holland Lops handle heat poorly, and a closed car in a Texas summer heats up fast. In hot weather we schedule early-morning pickups and ask that your car is cooled before the bunny goes in. Drive straight home. Do not leave the carrier in a parked car, even for a quick stop.

Flight delivery

We do not ship rabbits as cargo. For flight delivery, one of us flies with your bunny in the cabin to the major airport nearest you, anywhere in the US, and hands it to you in person. The delivery fee is quoted per trip based on the airport and airfare.

  1. Your application is approved and your deposit is paid.
  2. We agree the airport and date with you once the bunny is 8 weeks or older.
  3. We confirm the flight details and a meeting point at the airport before we leave.
  4. We fly with your bunny in the cabin and hand it to you in person, with its paperwork and transition feed.

Bring a carrier for the drive home from the airport. More detail on travel is on our Holland Lop delivery page.

What comes home with your bunny

  • Birth certificate
  • Care sheet
  • Transition feed (the food your bunny was raised on)
  • Quick bunny care lesson at the time of pickup

All our bunnies are healthy at the time of sale. Use the transition feed to change foods slowly over the first week or so, rather than switching on day one.

If you can no longer keep your rabbit

Every buyer agrees to contact Cedar Point Rabbitry first if they can no longer keep their rabbit. Email hello@cedarpointrabbitry.com or call or text (646) 463-2052. Lifetime support by text or call is part of every sale, and a quick talk about housing or diet sometimes solves the problem that made rehoming seem necessary. Questions about any of this are welcome before you apply.
