Fairview Heights is 25 to 30 minutes from St. Louis Lambert, much closer than either Chicago airport, so we fly there for the Metro East. Belleville, O'Fallon, Collinsville and Edwardsville use the same airport. Cool the car first in summer before the kit goes in.
Peoria is roughly two and a half to three hours from both O'Hare and St. Louis, so we pick by flight times on your date. Bring a towel lined carrier with a little hay, keep the car at room temperature, and drive straight home without stops.
