Every Holland Lop leaves our Texas barn one of two ways: you pick it up from us by appointment, or one of us flies with it in the cabin to your nearest major airport. It never travels as cargo, and it is never handed to a stranger.
We reply within 24 hours. A deposit holds your bunny and comes off the final price.
03
Pick a date
Once the kit is 8 weeks or older, we book a pickup time or a flight to your airport.
04
Hand over
You meet your bunny in person, with its birth certificate, care sheet and transition feed, plus a quick bunny care lesson.
Option 1: pickup at our Texas rabbitry
Pickup is by appointment only, at a time we agree once your deposit is in. Plan on about 30 minutes. You will meet the bunny, see the pens it grew up in, and go through feeding with us before you leave, including how to mix our pellets with the brand you plan to use over 7 to 10 days.
Bring a small hard or soft carrier with a towel on the floor. We add a handful of the hay your bunny already knows. A carrier about 18 inches long is plenty; a big crate lets a young rabbit slide around on corners.
Option 2: flight delivery to your airport
For buyers outside Texas, one of us flies with your bunny as an in-cabin pet. The kit rides in an airline-approved soft carrier under the seat in front of us, the whole way, with hay to nibble. We book airlines whose in-cabin pet policy accepts rabbits, which sometimes means a connection through a hub rather than a nonstop.
What the travel day looks like
When
What happens
The week before
We confirm the airport, flight times and your phone number, and send you a setup checklist for the pen.
Morning of the flight
Your bunny eats its normal breakfast of hay and pellets and gets a final once-over: eyes, nose, teeth, rear end.
In the air
The carrier stays under the seat. We do not open it in the cabin.
Arrival
We text you when we land and meet you at the agreed spot at the airport. The handoff takes about 15 minutes, with time for questions.
That evening
Your bunny goes straight into its pen with hay and water. We check in by text the next day.
Delivery costs quoted per trip based on the airport and airfare. Because one of us travels with each delivery, dates are limited, so book as early as you can. State guides for Ohio, Florida, California and our other common routes list the airports we fly into.
Why we do not ship rabbits as cargo
Cargo shipping is cheaper, and some breeders use it. We do not. A young rabbit in a hold or a shipping crate goes hours without anyone checking on it, through temperature swings and noise, and arrives stressed at an age when stress shows up as gut trouble. Rabbits hide illness well, so a problem that starts in transit is often not obvious for a day or two. Flying with the bunny ourselves costs more, and it is the only way we are willing to send one.

The first 48 hours after delivery
Most new owners do too much on the first night. Put the bunny in its pen with hay, water and a hide box, then leave it alone for a few hours. It will eat, explore and use the litter box once it feels safe. Watch for droppings: plenty of round, firm ones by the next morning means the gut is moving normally. No droppings for 12 hours is a reason to call us and a rabbit-savvy vet the same day. The Holland Lop care guide covers pen size and setup, and the diet guide covers feeding amounts.
No. We never ship rabbits as cargo or through a pet shipping company. A rabbit in a cargo hold is alone, in noise and changing temperatures, for hours. Instead one of us flies with your Holland Lop in the cabin, under the seat in front of us, and hands the bunny to you in person at your airport.
How much does flight delivery cost?
Flight delivery is quoted per trip based on the airport and airfare. The cost depends mostly on the airfare to your airport and the airline's in-cabin pet fee, so we quote it when you apply. Texas pickup at the rabbitry has no delivery fee. Either way, the deposit applies to the price of the bunny.
How old is the bunny when it flies?
Our Holland Lops fly at 8 weeks or older, the same age they would go home by car. By then a kit is fully weaned, eating hay and pellets on its own, and has been handled every day of its life, so a few hours in a soft carrier on a familiar person's lap is well within what it can handle.
What do I need to bring to the airport?
Bring your phone, a photo ID and a calm hour. The bunny arrives in its travel carrier with a little hay, and we hand over the birth certificate, care sheet and transition feed and give you a quick bunny care lesson at the same time. Have the pen at home set up before you leave so the bunny goes straight in.
Can I visit the rabbitry before I buy?
Yes, visits are by appointment only. Texas buyers usually meet their bunny on pickup day. If you are flying in from out of state, tell us on your application and we will plan a time to meet the kit and see where it was raised.
